Order Medications, Labs, & Procedures


Orders encompassing all diagnostic, therapeutic and medication categories can be submitted quickly and easily with pen-based selection from a comprehensive set of convenient personalized pick lists. Drug interactions, dose checking, allergic reactions and education sheets will be available through third party standard drug database utilities. Orders are recorded with time, date, location and submitter attached.

All medications are mapped to the Patient Summary screen for instant reference prior to each encounter, and a complete history of all orders is maintained for review. EMRitus allows you to customize your document templates for labs, referrals, and educational materials.

During, or at the conclusion of each patient encounter, physician order entry is facilitated for each patient as follows:

• Labs and procedures can be ordered using the entire CPT language, or from your own personalized department, clinic, disease, problem or individual clinician sub-sets which can be saved, rapidly retrieved with one pen tap, and ordered.
• Medications can be ordered using the 35,000 medications included in the EMRitus medication database, or from personalized department, clinic, disease, problem or individual clinician sub-sets which can be saved, rapidly retrieved with one pen tap, and ordered.
• Prescriptions can be printed, faxed or emailed.
• Educational materials and instructions given to the patient can be documented into the chart from pre-defined pick lists.
• From the Treatment Plan dialog Medications, Labs, Procedures and Supplies can be ordered or documented as required, provided or performed.
